William Ronald Newman

February 13, 1937 — October 17, 2007

William R. "Ron" Newman, age 70, of # 116 Lookout Circle, Rome, died Wednesday morning, October 17th, 2007 at a local hospital.
A native of Polk County, Georgia, Mr. Newman was born on February 13th, 1937, the son of the late Jules and Alma Lee Newman. He was a graduate of Rome High School and had spent the greater part of his life in Rome. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Newman, a well known Rome Paralegal, served in the United States Air Force, was a member of the Shanklin-Attaway Post #5 American Legion and for many years worked with his late brother, Rome Attorney Roy Newman. Mr. Newman was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Whitie and Roy Newman and 1 sister, Nancy Simmons.
Survivors include his wife, June A. Newman to whom he was married on January 21st, 1983, 2 daughters, Denise Croker and Kelly Faires both of Cedartown, Georgia; 3 grandchildren, Kristen and Josh Faires and Catlyn Mullinax. Nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service for William R. "Ron" Newman will be held this (Friday) morning, October 19th, 2007 at 10 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Mark Manis delivering the eulogy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the memorial service.
