Annie Ruth Kennedy

Annie Ruth Kennedy, 88, formerly of Rome, passed away Tuesday morning, October 20, in Atlanta after a short illness. She was married to her high school sweetheart, the late Elbert Kennedy for 56 years. She was a loving and giving Christian Mother to her three children Linda Johansson, the late Randy Kennedy, and the late Beth Kennedy. She was the last surviving of 11 children born to the late William Herbert Madden and the late Bessie Greene Madden of Bartow County. She was also predeceased by her Swedish son in law, Lennart Johansson.

Ruth was employed by Williams, Sweitzer, and Barnum for 27 years as a bookkeeper. She was a long time member of West Rome Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda and her life partner, Kim Aromy, her animal companion Bootsie, special 'daughter in law' Jane Trexler of Golden, Colorado, brother in law Ray Kennedy, sister in law Clarice Madden, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4 pm Saturday, October 24, at Fred Talley's Parkview. The family will receive friends at 2:30 until the time of the service. The Reverend Ken Oates will officiate.
