Barbara Gaylor Weatherby, passed away on November 11, 2023, in Rome, GA. She was born on May 8, 1950, in Gadsden, AL. Barbara was surrounded by her loving husband and family when she peacefully departed this world.
Barbara had an exceptional career as an appraiser, demonstrating her expertise and commitment to her profession. In addition to her successful career, Barbara also excelled as a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home for her loved ones. Known for her loving nature and compassionate heart, Barbara was always willing to go above and beyond for others around her. Her selflessness and generosity earned her a special place in the hearts of all who knew her. Barbara's giving spirit touched many lives throughout her lifetime. Among her many interests, Barbara had a deep passion for country music. She found solace and joy in listening to the melodies that spoke to her soul. Alongside music, she also enjoyed indulging in shows like soap operas and NCIS. These provided moments of relaxation and entertainment in her everyday life. Barbara's culinary skills were unrivaled as she took pride in the art of cooking. Her meals were not only delicious but also filled with love and care. Friends and family relished the occasions when they had the pleasure of experiencing Barbara's mouth-watering creations.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Jerry Weatherby of Rome, GA; daughter, Randi Tate of CA; daughter, Evelyn Duncan of Rome, GA; son, James Duncan of Rome, GA; son, Rick Weatherby and his wife Michelle of Rome, GA; brothers, James Gaylor Jr. of Columbus, GA and Wayne Gaylor of Rome, GA; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brother-in-laws and their spouses; her best friend, Kay Trammel, and her husband Tony of Rome, GA; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceeded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Weatherby Jr.; her sister, Pamela Burrows and her parents, James Gaylor and Sarah Hill Gaylor.
To celebrate the life of Barbara Gaylor Weatherby, a visitation will take place on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Salmon Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow the visitation at Salmon Funeral Home at 2:00 PM.
Barbara's passing has left a void in the hearts of those who loved and admired her. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts and minds of those she touched during her remarkable journey through life.
