Betty Arnell Stone

Betty Arnell ‘Nellie’ Siniard Stone, age 89, of Cedar Bluff, AL formally of Rome, Georgia passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Betty was born on March 18, 1933 in Rome, GA her late parents, Allen and Gladys Holcombe Siniard. She worked as the Postmaster at the Silver Creek United States Post Office. Betty was a faithful member of the Garden Lakes Baptist Church where she loved to attend. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and square dancing in her free time. Betty also loved to spend time with animals, she was an animal lover who always wanted to help the humane society when she could. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving children; son, Johnnie P. Stone III and his wife Virgie of Cedar Bluff, AL; daughters, Lelia Adams of Rome, GA; Donna Baker of Rome, GA; brother, Warren Green of AL; sisters, Pam Rawls, Diane Kozmaa; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Betty is preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.P. Stone, Jr; her parents; and a sister, Evelyn Holbrook.

A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday December 1, 2022 at 10:30 AM at East View Cemetery.

The family respectfully asks that memorial donations be made to the Rome/Floyd or Cherokee County Alabama Humane Society or the American Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.
