Betty Dobbs Millsap

Betty Dobbs Millsap, age 94, of Rome, was welcomed peacefully into Paradise on Sunday morning, June 15, 2025.

Betty was born in Canton GA, on November 11, 1930 to Naomi and J.P. Dobbs. She grew up in Atlanta GA & attended Hoke Smith High School. She married a preacher at a very young age and she and her husband traveled all over the United States Pastoring Churches where she shared her gift of piano & raised her family. She also had a love for Fashion and when she settled in Rome, she became a Sales Associate at The Vogue for over 25 years. She was a member of Sherwood Forest Baptist Church and was an officer for her Sunday School Class. She was also active in several civic clubs.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Thomas Grier & John Opher Millsap; a brother, Hampton Ronald Dobbs; and a grandson, Brian Keith Reagin.

Survivors include her three children: Linda Grier of Norcross GA, Tom Grier (Diane) of Ft. Oglethorpe GA, and Gail Grier of Roswell GA; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews & cousins.

A Funeral Service to honor the life of Mrs. Millsap will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow the service at East View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, June 22, 2025 from 2:00 PM until the service begins at 3:00 PM.
