Bobbie Earl Dunaway

Bobbie Earl Dunaway, Sr. age 77, of #47 Dixie Park Road, NW, Rome, died Friday morning, March 19th, 2010 at a local hospital.
A native of Floyd County, Mr. Dunaway was born on May 6th, 1932, the son of the late Benjamin F. and Sarah Marguerite Yarbrough Dunaway. He had spent his entire life in Floyd County and was 1949 graduate of Armuchee High School. Mr. Dunaway was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of the New Armuchee Baptist Church. He was a member and past Master of the Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge # 167 F&AM. Prior to his retirement Mr. Dunaway was associated with General Electric for 37 years.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Louise "Dot" Thacker Dunaway to whom he was married on October 2nd, 1955; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Farrell Bray of Armuchee; 1 son, Buddy Dunaway of Rome; 1 grandson, Justin Melton of Rome; 1 sister, Sara Ruth Mitchell of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Bobbie Earl Dunaway, Sr. will be held on Sunday afternoon, March 21st, 2010, at 3 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Jackson and the Rev. Edward E. Holsomback officiating. Interment will follow in the New Armuchee Baptist Church Cemetery with Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge #167 F&AM conducting Masonic graveside rites. There will be a called communication of the Floyd Springs Masonic Lodge at the lodge on Sunday at 1o'clock for the purpose of attending funeral services for Mr. Dunaway.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Larry Lynch, Glenn Grigsby, Jerry Brown, Tommy Mitchell and Bobby Youngblood.
Mr. Dunaway will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 1 until 3 o'clock. At other hours the family will be at the residence.
