Bobby James Vines

Mr. Bobby James Vines, age 72, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

Mr. Vines was born on January 27, 1950, in Rome, GA. He was the son of the late James Hoyt Vines and Ruth Inez Frazier Vines. Mr. Vines married Kathy Elaine Digsby Vines in 1971, and they were happily married for 51 years. Mr. Vines worked as a Creeler with Mannington for many years.

Bobby was a loving husband, father, pawpaw and friend who was loved by all. He enjoyed woodworking and made several pieces that are currently in the family home. Bobby was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, golfing and working in the garden.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kathy Vines of Rome, GA; daughter, Stephanie Kelley of Cartersville, GA; grandchildren, Jacob (Bridgett) Shoemake, James (Marina) Shoemake, Rebeka (Brandy) Shoemake; seven great grandchildren and one more on the way; brother, Chris (Cindy) Vines of Rome, GA; as well as his furry friends, Annie and Eddie. Mr. Vines was preceded in death by his parents, a baby brother, Phillip Vines and a sister Glenda Miller.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Vines will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Richardson officiating. Bobby's family will receive friends on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. Following the funeral service Bobby will be cremated.
