Mr. Cecil E. Ford, age 73, of Kingston, Ga, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021, in a local hospital.
Cecil was born in Rome, GA, on May 8, 1947, son of the late Jesse Ford, Sr. and Ruth Mae Waters Ford. He was a member of the Connesena Baptist Church. Cecil had worked for over 38 years with Galey and Lord Mills until they closed in 2005. Afterward he worked with Shaw Industries for over 10 years. He loved karaoke and watching dirt track racing. In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Camp Ford, on November 30, 2019, whom he married April 20, 1973. A son, David Ford, a granddaughter, Kimberly Green, and three brothers, Jesse Ford, Jr., Bobby Ford, and Billy Ford, also preceded him in death.
Cecil is survived by two daughters, Deborah Ford of Rome, and Tina Blackmon of Kingston; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Jolene Ford of Calhoun, GA; three step-children, Cathy Green, Randy Green and Darrell Green; three grandchildren, Faith McClure, Charity McClure and Will Ford; three brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Joan Ford of Shannon, GA, Ray and Brenda Ford of Rome, and Marvin Ford of Rome; one sister, Alice Hart of Rome. A sister-in-law, Becky Ford of Rome, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Cecil will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at 12:00 noon in the Alvis Miller Memorial Chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Parker officiating.
Cecil’s family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home Monday evening, March 8, 2021, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
