It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Charles W. Barnett, Sr. Charlie passed away Monday, December 1, at the age of 76 in Rome, Georgia.

Charlie was born on December 20, 1948, to the late William J. Barnett and Lillie Bell Digsby Barnett. He was known as an engineer, wood worker, mechanic, soldier, father and husband. Charlie worked for General Electric as a Field Engineer for over 30 years and was millwright for over 50 years. He served in the European Theater in the Army Air Defense Artillery.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, William & Lillie Barnett. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Martha, children Bill & David, their wives Christy & Amanda, and close family, Mike Huckaby and Larue Huckaby.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Charles life will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Floyd Memory Gardens. Following the service, Mr. Barnett will be laid to rest in his final resting place. 

Charles' family will receive friends for a visitation at Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
