David Eugene Bray, age 61, of Rome, passed away peacefully November 26, 2025 at a local healthcare facility. He was born on November 5, 1964, in Rome, Georgia. He lived a life filled with passion, creativity, and an unyielding love for all things automotive.
Throughout his career, David embraced various roles, but his greatest joy came from being self-employed as the owner of his own auto body shop. This venture was not merely a job for him; it was a true labor of love. His expertise in building high-performance engines made him a respected figure in the racing community, where his dedication to his craft matched his enthusiasm for hot rods, drag racing, and all types of cars. David's natural talent showed as he worked diligently to ensure that every engine and motor he touched operated at its full capacity.
In earlier years, he enjoyed the calming pursuit of bass fishing, a hobby he cherished even though he had not been able to participate in it for many years. His interests reflected a deep appreciation for mechanics and nature, showcasing the multifaceted individual he was.
David is survived by his daughter, Jessica Diane Bray; his mother, Patricia Gale Westbrooks; his brothers, Danny Bray and Michael Bray (Lynn); along with several step-siblings, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who will miss his vibrant spirit and infectious enthusiasm. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Eugene Bray and a niece, Kim Heart.
