Mrs. Deana Arlette Dean Drummond (Gran), age 88, of 206 Maplecrest Ln. Rome, GA went to be with her Lord & Savior on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
Arlette was born in Aragon, GA on August 13, 1937 and was the daughter of the late Mr. Kenneth Dean and Thelma Scott Dean. She lived most of her adult life in Rome.
She was a 1955 graduate of Model High School and was active in many clubs including basketball, cheerleading and chorus. After graduation, she went to work at General Electric where she was employed for 38 years before retiring. She was a member of The Quarter Century Club and was a president of The General Electric Monogram Club where she would plan monthly social events for all the salaried employees. She was also a member of The Dixie Stompers Dance Group for many years. Arlette loved performing and spending time with all her fellow dancers whom she called dear friends. When she wasn't working or spending time with her clubs, Arlette enjoyed traveling and was a world traveler. She was a faithful member of Mizpah United Methodist Church for over 50 years, where she served in many capacities like choir, Sunday School Teacher, Parsonage Committee and Treasurer of United Methodist Women. Mrs. Drummond, along with her husband, Danny were the owners of Drummond Tax Service and Double “D” Bonding Company. They were previously in the finance business. Arlette served as president of The Ladies Auxiliary of The Georgia Industrial Loan Association also known as GILA. While serving as president, she hosted the annual brunch held in Atlanta for the spouses of members of the general assembly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life in 2012, Danny Harry Drummond, to whom she was married for forty-eight and a half years, a brother, Jerome Dean and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Mrs. Drummond is survived by her loving family: her children, Jody (John) Hagedorn of Marietta, GA, Sabrina (Robert) Mathis of Rome, GA and Brady Dean (Melanie) Drummond of Rome, GA; five grandchildren: Zach (Ansley) Mathis, Ben (Kristen) Mathis, Mary Burke (Jon) Register, Madeline (Burt Michael) Tidwell and Brady Dean (Savannah Stewart) Drummond, II all of Rome, Georgia; five great-granddaughters: Maybrie and Lucy Mathis, Maggie Dean Register and Burkelee Ann Register and Eloise Tidwell; great-grandson, Benji Mathis; sister-in-law, Shirley Dean and a special friend, Jerome Webb.
Funeral Services to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Arlette Dean Drummond will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory. Following the funeral service, Mrs. Arlette will be laid to rest at Mizpah Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Robert Mathis, Brady Drummond, John Hagedorn, Jon Register, Zach Mathis, Burt Michael Tidwell and Ben Mathis.
A visitation for Mrs. Arlette will be held on Sunday, December 21, 2025 from 1:00 PM until the service begins at 3:00 PM at Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and sincere gratitude to the staff at Renaissance Marquis and The Spires for their compassionate care and support during Mrs. Drummond’s illness over the past several months. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to: The Mizpah Church Cemetery Fund or Morrison Campground.
