Deborah Lynn Rochester, known to most as Debbie, passed away surrounded by loved ones on August 24, 2026, at the age of 73. She was born to Kenneth Rochester and Mary (McEntyre) Rochester at Edwards Airforce Base in California on December 15,1952.

With her father working in the Air Force, Debbie moved often in her childhood, living as far away as Morocco in North Africa. At the age of three, she moved back to the U.S. and lived everywhere from Memphis, Tenn., to Florida and North Georgia. The family finally settled in DeKalb County where Debbie graduated from Columbia High School at the top of her class and as an accomplished basketball player. Debbie was a storyteller and would often share memories of being a troublemaker as a kid, run-ins with wild animals in the mountains of Georgia or tobacco fields in Florida, her disco days, meeting famous patrons while working in the restaurant industry, and family memories from being the oldest of six siblings. At the age of 30, Debbie had her daughter Bevin. She was known as a devoted mother who raised her daughter in a single-parent household, creating a close bond that remained central to her life.

In her later years, Debbie moved to Senoia, Ga., with her sister Cindy. She was beloved in her community, where neighbors often stopped by to say hello. She enjoyed reading and discovering new television shows, especially with one of her dogs – Cotton, and then Coco – curled in her lap. Debbie’s greatest passion became her granddaughter Summer in 2020. She treasured her travels to Boston, Mass., to visit her daughter and Summer, and those trips brought together many of the things she loved most: family, travel, beautiful scenery, and seafood. A true disco enthusiast in her younger years, she carried that enjoyment of music with her through the years and loved having dance parties – whether in-person or virtual, with her granddaughter.

Debbie is survived by her daughter, Bevin Wallace, and her granddaughter Summer, of Boston. She is also survived by her siblings, Cindy Rochester, Ricky (Nancy) Rochester, Rodney Rochester, and Samuel Rochester, along with more than a dozen nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Michael Rochester.

A visitation for Debbie will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral services will directly follow at 12:00 PM in The Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. Debbie will be laid to rest at Oostanaula Methodist Church, 74 Battey Farm Rd NE, Rome, Georgia 30161.

Debbie will be remembered for her boundless love and the laughter she brought tothose around her. Her memory will remain dear to all who knew and loved her.
