Debra "Debbie" Yvonne Hinman Motes, age 58, of Rome, GA, died Saturday, November 23, 2013.
Debbie was born in Moultrie, GA, on June 15, 1955, the daughter of the late John Andrew Hinman and the late Betty Jean Schubert Hinman. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County since 1971 and was a graduate of Floyd Junior College with an Associate Degree of Nursing in 1976. At the time of her death Debbie was an RN with Floyd Medical Center for 37 years, working in the Cath Lab. She lived life to the fullest, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She loved music, the beach, bird watching, photography and was an avid gardener. She also contributed to multiple charities and those in need. Her full heart and giving spirit was touched by so many.
Debbie is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay Amanda and Eric Travis Dreher of Rome; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Phillip Stephen and Quincy Leigh Pilgrim and Drew Gene Pilgrim, all of Rome; six grandchildren, Avery, Finley, Loxley and McCoy Pilgrim, and Isabella and Owen Dreher; two sisters, Carol Chandler of Collins GA, and Susan Whitehead of Rome; two brothers, John Hinman and Mark Whitehead, both of Carrollton, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service to honor the life of Debbie Hinman Motes will be held on Wednesday evening at 6:00pm in the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Chaplain Gary Bachelor officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00pm
