Donald B. Hackett, age 73, of Aragon, GA passed away on Friday morning, March 27, 2026, at his home. Donald was a dedicated mechanic, renowned for his exceptional ability to fix almost anything and a lifelong enthusiast of muscle cars and racing. He was born on July 8, 1952, in Richmond, Virginia, Donald spent most of his esteemed career at Heritage Nissan, where his passion for automotive performance and meticulous craftsmanship left a lasting impression.
Throughout his life, Donald's love for cars was not only evident in his professional work but also in his personal pursuits. He was an avid drag racer, often participating in and winning numerous races behind the wheel of his iconic 1968 Camaro, a testament to his skill and competitive spirit. Donald was deeply devoted to his family, cherishing the time spent with them above all else. A particularly special bond was shared with his grandson, Brennen, who affectionately called him PePaw, reflecting the warmth and affection that defined their relationship.
He is survived by his wife, Kristin D. Hackett of Aragon; his daughters, Karissa Hackett of Acworth, Georgia, and Jessi Kimbrough and her husband, Derrick, of Dallas, Georgia; his beloved grandson, Brennen Kimbrough of Dallas, Amy Benedetti and her husband, Kea, of Duarte, California, his grandson Jackson of Duarte, California, and Kristi Hackett and her children of Beloit, Wisconsin. Donald’s immediate family also includes his brothers, Michael L. Hackett and his wife, Judith of Gloucester, Virginia, and Terry S. Hackett and his wife, Laurel of Richmond, Virginia. He leaves behind an extended family and friends who will carry forward his memory. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, William P. Hackett, Jr. and Louise Brennan Hackett.
In accordance to Donald's wishes, he will be cremated and at this time there are no services being planned or scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation in his honor.
His legacy is defined not only by his mechanical expertise and successes on the drag strip but by the profound love and dedication he showed his family throughout his life. Donald B. Hackett will be remembered as a steadfast, loving man whose passion for life and family left an enduring mark on all who knew him.
