Donald Howell Kinney

Donald Howell Kinney, passed away on November 26, 2023, at his home in Rome, GA. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final moments. Donald was born on July 7, 1948, in Aragon, GA, to William Howell Kinney and Syble Bannister Kinney.

Throughout his entire life, Donald dedicated himself to the construction industry. His work ethic and passion for craftsmanship were unparalleled. With each project he undertook, he left behind a tangible legacy that will endure for generations to come. Donald's commitment and expertise in construction earned him the respect and admiration of those who had the pleasure of working with him.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Donald was known for his kind and welcoming nature. He had a natural ability to make others feel at ease in his presence and possessed a great sense of humor that brightened countless lives. His warm personality created lasting connections with friends and family members alike.

In his spare time, Donald cherished the opportunity to spend quality time with his loved ones. He found joy in working alongside his family members and sharing their accomplishments. Whether it was working on a home improvement project or simply enjoying one another's company, these moments brought immense happiness to Donald's life.

Donald is survived by his wife, Deborah Marie Riley of Rome, GA; daughters, Jeri K. Thornton of Lindale, GA and Kimberly Williams of Rome, GA; brother, William E. Kinney; grandchildren; Dalton (Kasey) Williams, Brandon (Kate) Maddox; great-grandchildren, Dayton and Kinley Williams. In addition to his immediate family, Donald formed deep bonds with close friends who will forever hold treasured memories of their time together. He was also survived by his faithful and cherished dog, Fanci, who brought him comfort and joy throughout the years. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dr. Sarah 'Sally' K. Maddox; grandchildren, Keanua 'Sissy' Chambers and Dallas C. Williams and a sister, Sheryl Kay Kinney.

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Thursday December 7, 2023 at Life Church from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Donald Howell Kinney led a life defined by hard work, kindness, and a love for his family. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him as they remember his unwavering dedication to his trade and the genuine warmth he extended to others. While the loss of Donald leaves a void in the lives of all who loved him, his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to have known him. May he rest in eternal peace.
