Doris Inez Patterson, age 68, passed away on March 4, 2026, in Rome, Georgia. Doris was born on April 10, 1957, in Cartersville, Georgia to her late parents: Mr. George Hutchens, Jr, and Mrs. Dimple Hillard Hutchens. A devoted caregiver and beloved family member, Doris touched the lives of many through her nurturing spirit and her unwavering commitment to her profession as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where she found great fulfillment in her work.
Throughout her life, Doris was known for her extraordinary love and devotion to her family. She was a wonderful loving mother, cherishing the moments spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Doris had a special relationship with her 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who held a cherished place in her heart. Her nurturing personality and constant encouragement inspired those around her. Ms. Patterson expressed her passions through a range of hobbies and interests. She loved to sing and play the piano at her church, Harmony Baptist Church, where music not only brought her joy but brought joy to the congregation. She also enjoyed shopping with her granddaughters and indulged in her obsession with coffee and a great love for the outdoors, always taking delight in God's creations and beauty around her. Not only will Mrs. Patterson be remembered for her professional dedication but for her immense love for her family and her joyful spirit that filled every room she entered. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her and those blessed enough to call her family.
Doris leaves behind her cherished family, including her children: son, Marvin McCullough and his wife Kay; daughter, Stacy McCullough and her husband Mike; son, Chris Patterson and his wife Jessica; Brittney Parham; Rhonda Jones and her husband Tommy. She is also survived by her brothers, Randy Hutchens and Lawrence Hutchens; her sister, Carolyn Hutchens; and numerous other loving family members.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, George Hutchens Jr. and Dimple Hutchens, an infant son, Justin Curtis, and two brothers, Shane Hutchens and Richard Hutchens.
A visitation for Ms. Patterson will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory from 12:00 PM until the funeral service begins at 2:00 PM.
Funeral Services to honor and celebrate the life of Ms. Doris Inez Patterson will be held on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at 2:00 PM from The Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Pastor Frankie Madre officiating and loving granddaughter, Emma will deliver the eulogy. Following the funeral service, Ms. Patterson will be laid to rest at Rome Memorial Park.
Doris’ legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Harmony Baptist Church in Doris’ honor.
