Douglas MacArthur Teston, affectionately known as "Mac," was born on October 9, 1945, in Screven County, Georgia. He passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of adventurous spirit and kindness that touched the lives of many.

Mac's remarkable journey took him from his roots in South Georgia to diverse experiences as a ranch hand in Oklahoma, a soldier patrolling the Berlin Wall in the aftermath of World War II, and adventures across Los Angeles and Alaska. His innate curiosity and deep empathy for both nature and humanity shaped a life that was as varied as it was rich, leading him ultimately back to Georgia, where he embraced the peaceful joys of retirement at the age of 78.

Mac was a man of many talents and interests. He found great joy in the art of woodworking, with a particular fondness for cedar wood. His craftsmanship was evident in his exquisite carvings, especially those inspired by Native American culture. His love for hunting further exemplified his appreciation for the great outdoors, where he found solace and connection with nature.

Mac was a remarkable man who will be deeply missed by his family and all those who come to know him.

Mac is preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Essie Wells Teston; his sisters, Jean Lowery and Linda Teston; brothers, Clem Teston, and Jimmy Teston.

Mac is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Trudy Teston; his son, Jacob Teston; his daughters, Heather (Nate) Gilman and Amanda Teston; five grandchildren, Chloe Thompson, Mark Teston, Miles Gonzales, Jesse (AaLiyah) Teston, Sabastion Teston; four great-grandchildren, Rune Thompson, Ollie Thompson, Artist Prime, Mateo Teston; niece, Candy Summey, and lots of nieces and nephews that he cherished deeply.

In accordance to Mr. Teston's wishes, he will be cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
