Earl Glenn Godfrey

Mr. Earl Glenn Godfrey, age 83, of Adairsville, GA, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, in a local hospital.

Earl was born in McCaysville, GA, on January 21, 1938, son of the late T.M. Godfrey and Elsie Stuart Godfrey. He was a member of Rush Chapel United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of Shannon Masonic Lodge #100 F&AM. Earl was a self-employed auto mechanic who enjoyed restoring cars. He only other hobby was spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by a sister, Joann Smith.

Earl is survived by his wife of over 64 years, Eleanore Banghart Godfrey, whom he married October 26, 1957; a daughter, Debra Ann Godfrey and her companion, Mark Jolly; son, Glenn Lee Godfrey; four grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole Wallace, William Kyle Godfrey, Dalton Lee Godfrey and Blaine Fricks.

In keeping with his wishes, Earl has been cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.
