Edna May Gordon Talley, age 75, of Rome passed away on Tuesday morning, April 1, 2014 at a Rome hospital.
Edna was born on December 4, 1938, in Whitfield County, GA, the daughter of the late Dorsey and Flora May Shelton Gordon. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County for the greater part of her life and was a member of the Baptist Temple of Rome. Prior to retirement Edna was associated with Western Sizzlin of Rome for over 30 years. She loved to go fishing in her spare time. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Richard Talley, on October 31, 2012.
Edna is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Joann and Larry Crow of Rome; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Vernon and Lillian Gordon of Dalton, and James Leldon and Sarah Edna Umphrey of Rome. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Edna will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Clements officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mountain View Mausoleum at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Edna will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends this (Wednesday) evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
