Emily Faye Stansell, age 89, passed away on August 25, 2026, in Rome, Georgia. She was born on September 27, 1936, in Cherokee County, Alabama to the late William Hoyt and Eula Mae Maddox Robinson.

Mrs. Stansell was a seamstress and enjoyed sewing. She also enjoyed cleaning and took special pleasure in keeping things in order. She also loved her roses and flowers, found joy in getting her nails done and cherished gospel music and hymns. A faithful member of Silver Creek Baptist Church for more than 40 years, she lived with a deep and steady devotion to her church and her faith.

Emily is survived by her children: Cindy (Mike) Taylor of Rome and Rodney (Amy) Twilley of Spring Garden, AL; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and a host of special friends. in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles 'Steve' Stansell; children, Stevie Gene Twilley and William Thomas Twilley; and a sister, Francis Crider.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at Salmon Funeral Home on Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A  private graveside service will be held at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Mr. Danny Rhodes officiating. Mike Taylor, Pierce Hobbs, Peyton Hobbs, Grant Taylor, Rodney Twilley and Morgan Twilley will be serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Renaissance Marquis in Emily’s honor.
