Erin Michelle (Ables) Clark

June 2, 1991 — February 19, 2020

Erin Michelle (Ables) Clark, age 28, of Lindale, GA passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday February 19, 2020 after a courageous ten- year battle with cancer. The tenacity and bravery continuously displayed by Erin during her life was, and will continue to be, an inspiration to others facing difficulties of any kind. To those who knew her Erin was a free-spirited and strong-willed lover of life, animals, the outdoors and her family and friends. Because of her condition she saw life as more precious than most and lived her life accordingly -- leaving nothing undone or unsaid.

Erin was born in Rome, GA on June 2, 1991. She was an honor graduate of St. Marys Catholic School, Darlington School (2009), and Shorter University (2019). At Darlington she was a four-year starter in both softball and lacrosse which led to an athletic scholarship from Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, TN. While there she was diagnosed with leukemia during her first semester. Erin earned her nursing degree ten years later, battling cancer throughout, and at the time of her passing was employed by PruittHealth as a hospice RN in Rome.

Erin is survived by her husband Robbie Clark of Lindale and step-daughter Ashley Clark of Alpharetta, parents Allen and Dawn Ables of Rome, brothers Eli Ables of Pensacola, FL and Alex Ables of Rome. Also surviving are grandparents Jim and Arlene Tidwell of Armuchee, Vera Gandy of Atlanta and in-laws Emmett and Jenny Clark of Silver Creek. She was preceded in death by her father Mitchell Keith Ables and grandparents Harold Ables, Eloise Ables Chambers, Harold Chambers, Richard Ables and Douglas Gandy.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staffs of Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta at Emory, the Harbin Cancer Clinic and PruittHealth. The family will receive friends on February 22 from 4-6 at Salmon Funeral Home, 2516 New Calhoun Hwy in Rome. A family celebration of Erins life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers we request donations be made to Summit Quest Cancer Support Services @ mysummitquest.org
