Evelyn Trapp Wilson, age 80, of the Little Texas Valley Community, Rome, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 2, 2013 at the residence.
A native of Floyd County, Mrs. Wilson was born on July 27, 1932, the daughter of the late Fred and Annie Fay McCain Trapp. Mrs. Wilson had spent the greater part of her life in Floyd County and was a life long homemaker. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Little Flock Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilson was married on March 13, 1957 to Winford Freeman Wilson who preceded her in death on March 23, 2009.
Survivors include 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Allen Mathis of Rome and Kay and Jimmy Buffington of Rome; 2 sons, Darvis Wilson of Knoxville, Tenn. and Donnie Wilson of Rome. 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Evelyn Trapp Wilson will be held on Friday morning, April 5, 2013 at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with the Reverend Alan Fuller and the Reverend Thomas Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The following will serve as active pallbearers, Chris Buffington, Adam Buffington, Jason Wilson, Eric Wilson, Mike Wilson and Shawn Elmore.
Mrs. Wilson will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends on Thursday evening, April 4, 2013 from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
