Florence Marylin Tears, affectionately known as Lynn, age 81, of Cedartown, GA passed away peacefully on June 2, 2026, in Rome, Georgia. Born on January 28, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, Lynn lived a life marked by unwavering dedication to her family, her faith, and her community.

Lynn’s life was a testament to her deep love for children. She joyfully opened her home to children, creating a warm and welcoming environment where learning and fun were intertwined. Her passion extended beyond her home as she actively participated in the children’s ministry and the thrift store at Community Share Ministries. There, she worshiped the Lord with fervor and generously lent her time and talents to serve others in need.

Known for her resourcefulness and knack for fixing things, Lynn was a remarkable woman who collected tools and supplies for every imaginable project, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her spirit of service and kindness was evident in every aspect of her life, reflecting the core of who she was.

Among her proudest accomplishments was her role as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She cherished her family deeply and found immense joy in their presence. She is survived by her sons, Christopher Tears of Loxahatchee, Florida and Frederick C. "Fred" Tears of Lake Worth, Florida; her sister, Charlene (Donald) Morda of Matlacha, Florida; grandchildren: Zachary, Zoe, and Abigail Tears; and her great-granddaughter, Jolyne Ruiz-Fogleman. Though her beloved husband of 57 years, August Frederick "Fred" Tears, along with her brothers James and Ronald Campbell, preceded her in death, her legacy endures in the hearts of those she loved.

A celebration of Lynn’s life is currently being planned. As soon as the service details are finalized, they will be announced here.

Florence Marylin Tears' life was one of love, service, and community. She will be remembered with great respect and admiration for the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her. Her enduring spirit and compassionate heart leave a lasting imprint on all who had the privilege of knowing her. The Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory Family is honored to serve and care for Ms. Florence Marylin 'Lynn' Tears and her family.
