Geneva Lynn Hassler

January 12, 1923 — April 30, 2013

Geneva Hassler, age 90, of Rome passed away on Tuesday morning, April 30, 2013 at a Rome hospital.

A native of Dawson County, Georgia, Mrs. Hassler was born on January 12, 1923, the daughter of the late Otis and Sarah Mann Edmondson. Mrs. Hassler had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Hassler attended Rome City Schools, received her L.P.N. licenses from Coosa Valley Tech and received her Registered Nurse's Degree form Berry College. For several years Geneva was associated with Floyd Medical Center and for a period of time served as a supervisor at Creswell HealthCare. Mrs. Hassler was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Sarah Bobbie Tolbert and Edna Jackson. Mrs. Hassler was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hassler.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Hoyt Tolbert of Buchanan, Georgia; 3 grandchildren, Chris Tolbert and his wife, Gina of Buchanan, GA., Kelley Johnson and her husband, Jeff of Rome and Heather Wood and her husband, Jon of Sacramento, Calif. A brother-in-law, Jesse Tolbert of Rome. Nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Geneva Hassler will be held on Saturday afternoon, May 4, 2013 at 2 o'clock in the Oaknoll Mausoleum Chapel at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Donald Peace officiating. Entombment will follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

For those attending the funeral service for Mrs. Hassler please meet at the Oaknoll Mausoleum Chapel at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens on Saturday afternoon by 1:45 p.m.

Mrs. Hassler will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening, May 3, 2013 from 6 until 8 o'clock.
