Mrs. Genoka Tucker Parker, age 92, of Rome, GA passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at her home.

Genoka was born on May 3, 1931, in Centre, Alabama to her late parents, Andrew and Effie Hill Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Norman Parker, two sons, Kim Parker and David Terry Parker, and many brothers and sisters. 

Genoka touched the lives of many with her loving and kind nature. Her family was everything to her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She learned the importance of family values from an early age and carried those principles throughout her life. Genoka's warmth and generosity extended beyond her own household. She was a selfless individual who embraced her role as a homemaker wholeheartedly. Known for her exceptional skills as a seamstress, she spent countless hours creating beautiful garments for herself and others.


Music brought joy to Genoka's life, particularly karaoke. She had a passion for singing and found delight in entertaining others with her melodious voice. Whether it was at family gatherings or community events, Genoka's performances were always met with applause and admiration. Genoka's culinary skills were equally impressive. Known for her delicious meals, she delighted in cooking for family and friends. Her dishes brought people together and created cherished moments around the dinner table.

She is survived by her son, Kirk Parker; grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Langford, Kandice (Donald) Sizemore, Kayla (Brad) Perry, Elizabeth Patty; great-grandchildren, Ava Langford, Olivia Perry, Avery Perry; sister, Gevelma Parker; a long-time companion, Tommy Willerson and many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private graveside service to honor Genoka's life at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens at a later date.
