It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Gilberto Granados on March 21, 2023. He lived a long life of 68 years.
Gilbert will be lovingly remembered and missed by his family. He is survived by his children: Armando Granados of Euharlee, Georgia; Jacqueline Granados of Florida, his grandchildren (all of Jacqueline), Sabrina and Brandon;, as well as his siblings: Maggie, Sylvia, and Sergio. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Gonzalo & Carmen Granados. He was affiliated with Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Cartersville, Georgia.
Gilbert was born on February 14th, 1955 in El Paso, Texas. He spent much of his life in the Windy City of Chicago and later moved on to retire in Georgia.
A natural born tinkerer, Gilbert had an intricate and logical mind that fueled his passion for technology. Though quiet, Gilbert had a knack for working with his hands; In 1977, Gilbert received a diploma for Electronics Technology, thus solidifying his career as a technician.
Gilbert had a childhood love of fishing and would spend many hours on the banks of the water in peaceful solitude, just himself and the nature around him. At Gilbert’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Instead, he asked that friends and loved ones visit a fishing hole when they are able in memory of him. Gilbert’s ashes will be scattered at a later date.
We thank you, loving Creator,
and we return these remains of
our beloved father & brother into the cycles of your creation:
ashes to ashes; dust to dust.
Through Christ’s victory we have hope in life eternal.
So now, we commit these ashes of his mortal body to the living waters
We rejoice that he now resides for all eternity in the vast ocean of your mercy. Amen.
