Guilford Lee Moreland, known affectionately as "Lee," passed away on October 26, 2025, in Rome, Georgia, at the age of 75, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 22, 1950, in Dalton, Georgia, he lived a life defined by his unwavering spirit and good humor.

Lee dedicated much of his career to the carpet mill, where he held several positions over the years. His work ethic and commitment to his craft were evident to all who knew him. A proud veteran, Lee honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict, a chapter of his life that he regarded with both pride and solemnity.

Lee was a man of many interests. He found joy in working in the yard, cultivating a deep appreciation for nature. His love for animals was profound, especially for the dogs and cats he cherished throughout his life. He delighted in feeding and observing the deer, birds, and squirrels that frequented his outdoor spaces, which provided him a sense of peace and connection to the world around him.

Family was paramount to Lee. He is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis McCormick Moreland of Kingston; daughter, Brandy Money of Kingston; son, Derek Moreland of Rome; and grandchildren, Caitlin Adcock (Heath) and Savannah Money. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Oliver and Noah Adcock, who brought him immense joy. He leaves behind not only a family who loved him dearly but also several friends who will remember him for his infectious sense of humor and lighthearted spirit. Lee was preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Moreland and Armoree Grant Moreland.

A private celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

Salmon Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Guilford 'Lee" Moreland.
