Harold Edward ‘Bud’ Ritchey went home to see Jesus on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
He was born in Kingston, Georgia on January 21, 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Clyde Ritchey. He graduated in 1959 from Johnson School in Kingston, Georgia. His first paying job was as a car hop, on skates, at Troy’s Barbecue. He was then hired to build cabinets at O’Neil’s. He married Carol Ann Lancaster and they were married almost 60 years. She went to heaven in October of 2022. Bud served as a tank driver in the Army National Guards. He was proud to serve his country. He then worked for North Georgia Heating and Air and Lockheed. He retired from the General Service Administration in Maintenance at the Federal Building in Rome, Georgia. He loved to deer and turkey hunt and repair anything broken. He was always looking for someone to help. He left us a great legacy to follow. He was a founding member of Rome Baptist Temple and worshipped there 43 years.
He will be missed by his children, Cindy (Warren) Stephens and Mike (Jeanetta) Ritchey as well as his sisters, Sue Minor and Janice Stewart; his grandchildren, Sarah Kate Stephens (Collin), Ben, Madelyn and Lauryn Ritchey and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at Salmon Funeral Home on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel with Reverend Chris Hanks officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and family at Salmon Funeral Home on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 1:00 PM until the service begins.
