Hubert Womack, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Kingston, Georgia. Born on March 3, 1934, in Rome, Georgia, Hubert led a life filled with hard work, joy, and love, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

A dedicated worker, Hubert retired from Shaw Industries in 1998, where he served diligently as a forklift driver. He was known for his strong work ethic, having worked hard throughout his entire life. Despite his laborious career, he was a man of great warmth, always recognized for his big smile that seemed to brighten any room.

Hubert's personality shone through in his hobbies and interests. He was never one to shy away from good times; he loved to dance, fish, and engage in gardening. Additionally, he was a master at woodworking, capable of building anything with his skilled hands. His ability to create and nurture extended to his love for spending quality time with family and friends, which he cherished dearly.

In his community, Hubert was a longstanding member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he found both fellowship and purpose. His faith was an integral part of his life and contributed to the positive influence he had on those around him.

He is survived by his son, Dewayne Womack; daughter, Carol Dutton; sisters, Maxine "Tootsie" Rogers (Kenneth) and Wilma Bennett and Willow Mae "Sis" Vickery (Ray); brother, Anthony "Sonny" Womack; and grandchildren, Christopher Womack (Laken), Jesse Womack (Rachel), Lauren Heath (Mason), Sara Strickland (Tommy), Cain Dutton, Heather Murdock (Jason), Briana Rogers, and Shirley Womack Murdock (Jason). Hubert also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will carry his memory in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his children, Chris Womack, Hubert Womack Jr., and Steve Womack; the mother of his children, Carolyn (JoAnn) Rogers; and his parents, James Womack and Maudie Williams Womack. He was welcomed in heaven by his beloved sisters, Helen Dupree and Pauline Beavers, as well as brothers, James (Buddy) Womack, Sorrells Womack, and Boyce (Tinsie Boy) Womack.

The celebration of Hubert's life will be held at Salmon Funeral Home in Rome, GA, with visitation on February 16, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on February 17, 2026, at 3:00 PM, followed by burial services at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Kingston, GA.

Hubert Womack's legacy of kindness, hard work, and joyous spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
