James Edward Hulsey

Mr. Hulsey was born on August 14, 1935 in Rome, GA and was raised in the Celanese Village. He was a son of the late: William “Bill” Hulsey and Inez Robinson Gilmore. James was retired from Inland Container Corporation after 40 years and had worked for Sherold Salmon Auto for over 20 years. He was a faithful member of North Rome Church of God. In his free time Mr. Hulsey enjoyed traveling, fishing, tending to his roses and his beloved dogs, Boo Boo and Hershey. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Ray Hulsey, Raymond Hulsey and Danny Knight and his sisters: Lorriane Harris and Katherine Downs Satcher.

Mr. Hulsey is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Marie Hulsey of Kingston, GA; son, Steve Hulsey and his wife, Melissa of Rome, GA; daughters: Cathy Kerce of Kingston, GA, Cynthia Womack and her husband, Kelly Mills of Rome, GA and Donna Womack and Lisa Weiner of Tampa, FL; sister, Faye Freeman Smith; grandchildren: Leslie (Berry) Sellers, Josh (Kristy) Kerce, Ryan Hulsey, Lt. Will Hulsey, Curtis Womack; great-grandchildren: Austin Kerce, Langley Ann Kerce, Lexi Hulsey, Kaleb Schmidlkofer, Gage Schmidlkofer, Carter Sellars and Kimberlee Sellars and great-great granddaughter, Harper Rae Schmidlkofer.

Funeral Services for Mr. James Edward Hulsey will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the Salmon Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Joe Robinson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Ryan Hulsey, Curtis Womack, Josh Kerce, Austin Kerce, Kelly Mills, Berry Sellars, Kaleb Schmidlkofer and Corey Rhodes.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Sherold Salmon, Ramey Salmon, Trey Salmon, David Salmon and Brad Kerce.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 24, 2023 from 1:00 PM until the service begins at 3:00 PM.

The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to Heyman Hospice doctors, nurses, and staff for taking such wonderful care of Mr. Hulsey.
