Mr. James Ledall Pilgrim, born on July 8, 1938, in Rome, Georgia, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, in Cartersville, Georgia. He lived a life marked by dedication, love, and a strong belief in his faith as a devout Christian.

For many years, James worked as a multi lift operator at General Electric, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to his role. His passion extended beyond his career; he was an avid participant in various hobbies and interests. James enjoyed square dancing and was proud to be a member of the Western Proprietors. A big Atlanta Braves fan, he cherished every opportunity to cheer for his team. Additionally, he loved bowling and played in the G.E. League, and he was also recognized for his skills as a softball pitcher.

James was deeply devoted to his family, loving and cherishing each member. He is survived by his children: Steve (Nina) Pilgrim of Rome, GA; Melinda (Darrell) Morrison of Rome, GA; Tina (Tommy) Hill of Trion, GA; and Wendy (Lamar) Fowler of Silver Creek, GA. He also leaves behind his sister, Syble Pilgrim Herron of Lindale, GA; his significant other, Sharon G. Loehr of Acworth, GA; and his bonus son, Bob (Libby) Loehr of Woodstock, GA. Additionally, James was a proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 22 great-grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Chapman Pilgrim, as well as his parents, Jesse Edward Pilgrim and Lula Bell Baggett Pilgrim.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. James Ledall Pilgrim will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens, located at 2549 Shorter Avenue, Rome, GA 30165. The service will begin at 12:00 PM, with family and friends invited to gather and celebrate his life and legacy.

Serving as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Jason Henson, Brennan Morrison, Dayden Agan, Bob Loehr, Jeremy East and George Loehr.

In this moment of sorrow, we find solace in knowing that James no longer suffers. He has returned to the embrace of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, where he is at peace. As we remember him, may we carry forward his legacy of faith, love, and joy in our hearts.
