James Clarence Rayburn, age 83, passed away on August 27, 2025, at a local hospital. Born on December 26, 1941, he lived a life marked by service and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Rayburn and Francis Elizabeth Johnson and a brother, Floyd Donnie Rayburn. Survivors include his brother, Jeffrey Rayburn; his nieces and their families: Lisa Allen; great nieces, Megan & Miranda Allen and a great-great niece, Kaydance Allen.

James served his country honorably in the Army National Guard, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant during a devoted 27-year career. He will be remembered for his commitment to family, his steady presence, and the many miles of friendship and camaraderie he showed with those who knew him.

Graveside funeral services to honor the life of Mr. James Clarence Rayburn will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 2:30 PM. Mr. Rayburn's family will receive friends on Friday, September 05, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Salmon Funeral Home before processing to the cemetery for the Graveside Service.
