Mr. James Willis “Jim” Lynch, age 71, of Rome, GA, made his Heavenly flight from his residence Wednesday morning, October 20, 2021.
Jim was born in Copperhill, TN, on July 22, 1950, son of Latha Mae Miller Lynch and the late James Luther Lynch. He was a 1968 graduate of Model High School. Jim was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Germany and after returning home received his Bachelor’s Degree from Shorter College in 1978. He moved to Palm Bay, FL, in the early 1980’s and was a branch manager with Bank of America for a number of years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Melbourne, FL, for 17 years the transferred to First Baptist of Melbourne before retiring and moving back to Rome in 2019 when he became a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Jim loved all things outdoors including camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, and shooting sports.
Jim is survived by his wife, Linda Lou Cross Lynch, whom he married May 25, 1979; a son and daughter-in-law, James Andrew and Michelle Lynch of Palm Bay, FL; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rick and Holly Lynch, and Chris and Deborah Lynch, all of Rome. Four grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held Friday, October 22, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in Sherwood Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Hayes officiating.
