Ms. Jena Lynn Whelchel, affectionately known as Lynn, passed away on September 21, 2025, in her beloved hometown of Rome, Georgia. She was born on March 15, 1938, Jena was a cherished member of the community whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Lynn had a fulfilling career, having worked many years in the office of H&H Wholesale as clerical staff. She found great joy in her work and is remembered fondly by her colleagues and friends for her dedication and cheerful spirit.
Lynn was preceded in death by her caring parents, Joseph Oscar Whelchel and Audrey Inez Jackson Whelchel, as well as her brothers Alton Whelchel and B.W. Whelchel, her sisters Pauline Sitten and Gladys Whelchel and a niece, Diane Bing. Their memories will forever be a part of her legacy and the love that she carried for them.
She is survived by her niece Glenda White of Cedartown, Georgia, and her nephews Kim Sitten, Michael (Susan) Whelchel, Dexter (Cindy) Whelchel, Greg (Brenda) Whelchel, Steve (Tammy) Whelchel and Thomas Bing, all of Rome, Georgia.
A Graveside Service to celebrate and honor Ms. Jena Lynn Whelchel will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Salmon Cemetery in Rome, Georgia. with Mr. Marvin Jackson officiating.
The family will receive friends at Salmon Funeral Home & Crematory for a visitation on Wednesday, September 24, 2025from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Following the visitation, a procession will be taken to Salmon Cemetery for Mrs. Whelchel's graveside service.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will resonate through the lives she has touched. Lynn will be remembered not only for her professional contributions but also for her dedicated spirit and the love she shared with her family and friends.
