Jerry Wayne Weatherby Sr. passed away on October 2, 2025. He was born on March 21, 1956, in Decatur, Alabama to Jim Weatherby. Jerry a.k.a Geronimo dedicated many years of service to Trucking.
An avid NASCAR fan, Jerry delighted in the race He was a dedicated Alabama fan as well. He took great pleasure in working outdoors, tending to his yard, and spent many hours tinkering with cars, showcasing his mechanical skills.
Throughout his life, Jerry was known for his willingness to help anyone in need, reflecting his generous spirit and kindness. His legacy of compassion and dedication will resonate within the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jerry is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Gaylor Weatherby; his son, Jerry Weatherby Jr.; his father, Jim D. Weatherby; and his brother, Ben Weatherby.
He is survived by his son, Rick Weatherby and his wife, Michelle, of Rome, Georgia; Step children, James Duncan Jr.; daughters, Randi Tate of California; Evelyn Duncan of Rome, Georgia; brothers, Waylon Weatherby, Jimmy Weatherby, Joey Weatherby, nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and close friends, Kay and Tony Trammel of Rome, Georgia.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at Living Water Church on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Thomas Evans officiating.
Jerry Wayne Weatherby Sr. will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the memories of those he loved and who loved him.
