Judy Sue Chandler

November 19, 1946 — August 4, 2024

Tallapoosa

Judy Sue Chandler, age 77, of Tallapoosa, Georgia, passed away on August 4, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Judy was born on November 19, 1946 in Muscadine, AL. and was the daughter of Samuel "Bunk" Cole and Geneva Cole. Judy was the true definition of a homemaker in every way possible and had such a drive to better the lives of those around her. She dedicated her life to her family and creating a warm and welcoming home for all who crossed her path, always ensuring those around her felt valued and loved. Judy's home was a sanctuary that welcomed all with open arms. Her vibrant personality touched the lives of many; she loved everyone she met and never came across a stranger. If you were lucky enough to know Judy, you knew her spunky personality and her infectious humor that filled the room with laughter more often than not. Judy had an outgoing personality and lived each day to the fullest. She found joy in spending time with her precious family and taking trips to one of her favorite places and home away from home, Lake Weiss. She had a passion for cooking and was known for her delicious meals shared among her friends and family and made sure if you were around her, your stomach was full! Judy faced a tough battle with cancer in her final days but did so with grace and courage that inspired all who knew her. Mrs. Chandler was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will all miss her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Chandler; siblings: Claude "Wayne" Cole, Jacqueline Chandler, Janice Dudley, Jerrie Williams, Lee Duane Cole, and Ricky Mack Cole.

She is survived by her loving husband, Allen Chandler of Tallapoosa, GA; her children, Tim Brown and his wife, Katrina of Bremen, GA; Jennifer Clayton and her husband, Lane "Amp" of Tallapoosa, GA; and Felicia Smith of Tallapoosa, GA; brother, Sammy Cole and his wife, Jean of Tallapoosa, GA; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and her special lake family also survive.

Judy will be remembered not only for her role as a dedicated homemaker but also for the love and light she brought into the lives of those around her and although we are heartbroken she has left her home here on earth, we take comfort in remembering that she is no longer suffering and was welcomed to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her beloved family who went before her.
