Julius Matyasovsky passed away on June 3, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on August 27, 1954, Julius was a devoted family man whose love and dedication to his family were evident in all aspects of his life.
Julius was known for his passion for travel and his enjoyment of spending quality time with his family. He cherished game nights surrounded by his children and their families, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. His unwavering commitment to family extended beyond his own, as he dedicated many years to coaching little league inspiring countless young lives in the community. In addition to his family and volunteer work, Julius had a profound appreciation for nature and wildlife, especially eagles. His love for martial arts reflected his dedication to discipline, strength, and self-improvement, both in his personal life and in his interactions with others.
Julius is preceded in death by his biological parents, John Matyasovsky and Elizabeth Findley; his adoptive parents, Leslie Francis Sr. and Rita Francis; his brothers, Leslie Francis Jr. and James "Jimmy" Francis; sister, Shelia Smith; and niece, Serena Smith.
He is survived by his daughter, his pride and joy, Denise and her husband, Jerry Peart; sons, Doug and his wife, Logan Francis, Stephen and his wife, Bridget Francis, and Vincent and his wife, Tanya Sheldon; ten grandchildren: Tania Torres, Shanice Francis, Anna Francis, Meilia Francis, Ezra Francis, Brantley Ridgeway, Johnny Barnes (Abigail "Abby" Chesnut), Tiana Sheldon, Deneisha Sheldon, and Rakim "Derek" Turner; one great-grandchild, Josiah Torres; his sister, Joan Francis; nieces and nephews, Tammy Sheldon, Melanie Sheldon, Patrick Sheldon, Vincent Barnett; and cousins, Jay and Elaine Cucroni.
In accordance to Mr. Matyasovsky's wishes, he will be cremated and there are no services at this time.
As we remember Julius, let us honor his spirit of generosity, dedication to family, and passion for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
