Mrs. Katherine Louise Shirey McBurnett

Mrs. Katherine Louise Shirey McBurnett, age 78, of Hawkins Road, Armuchee, GA, died Monday afternoon, November 13, 2017, following an extended illness.
Mrs. McBurnett was born March 31, 1939, in Rome, GA, daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Shirey and Mary Leona Hammonds Shirey. Mrs. McBurnett was a homemaker, member of New Armuchee Baptist Church and the Joy Club. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McBurnett was preceded in death by two sons, Randy and Lamar Barnes, a brother, Billy Wayne Shirey, and sister, Martha Ann Williams.
Mrs. McBurnett is survived by her husband, Edward W. McBurnett, to whom she was married October 9, 1984; three daughters, Vickie Joyce Brown, Rome, Nancy Jeanette Barnes, Rome and Julie Melinda Tudor, Summerville, GA. Grandchildren; Christopher Robert Suits, Brandelyn Misty Martin, Austin Lee Long, Garrett Lee Tudor, Steven Lamar Barnes and Heather Kerns. Great-Grandchildren; Andrew Robert Suits, Frank Tanner Martin, Cooper Lee Long, Hayden Kerns and Zaylan McCanally. Two Brothers, Huey Lee Shirey and Kenneth Ray Shirey, three sisters, Phyllis Ann Dodd, Betty Sue Pitts and Faye Rosell Popham, a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Carl Sidwell Chapel of the Salmon Funeral Home with Dr. David Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will gather Wednesday at Salmon Funeral Home where they will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. At other hours the family may be contacted at their respective residences.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at Salmon Funeral Home on Thursday at 1:45 PM and include: Kenneth Drain, Stacey Tudor, Corey Biggers, Dickie Vaughn, James McBurnett and Shane Lindsey.
