Kathy Faye Purdy

Kathy Faye Purdy, age 68, of Rome, GA, passed away peacefully at her home on August 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. 

Kathy was born on September 11, 1955, in Rome, GA. She dedicated her life to nurturing her family and cherishing the moments spent together. Kathy was known for her outgoing personality and her unwavering faith as a proud Christian. Her commitment to her beliefs was evident through her many years of attendance at Doyle Road and Park Avenue Baptist Church, where she actively participated in the church's activities.

A passionate lover of the beach, Kathy relished every opportunity to create lasting memories with her family, particularly her cherished grandchildren. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her son, Michael Jones, and his wife Erica of Rome, GA; her brothers, Jerry Purdy and his wife Kathy of Summerville, GA, and Ronnie Purdy of Rome, GA; her grandchildren, Marc Clouatre and his wife Neha of Rome, GA, and Casey Jones and his wife Mariah of Rome, GA; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her presence. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Compton Purdy and Helen Elizabeth Crowe Purdy; her brother, Frankie Purdy; and her sister, Patricia Ray.

A graveside service to honor Kathy's life will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Rome Memorial Park, located at 2446 Cedartown Highway, Rome, GA 30161, starting at 12:00 PM with Reverend Donald Lindsey officiating. Casey Jones, Marc Clouatre, Terry Swanson, Saul Leon, Curtis Chapman and Brian Leon will serve as pallbearers. Pallbearers are asked to assemble at the Cemetery at 11:45 AM.
