Mr. Leslie Howard Hawkins, of Rome, Georgia, passed away at his home on September 21, 2026, at the age of 75. He was born on January 24, 1951, in Cartersville, Georgia.

Leslie was a veteran who bravely served in the United States Navy.  Following his military service, he worked as a painter and was a man who found joy in the things he loved most and in the people who meant the most to him.

He loved football and was an especially devoted Georgia Bulldog fan. He also enjoyed NASCAR and was a loyal admirer of Dale Earnhardt. Among his favorite pleasures was his son, Adam's Mustang, which he loved dearly and enjoyed taking out for a cruise. Above all, Leslie loved his wife, Jeannie, very much. One of the greatest joys of his life was growing old with her, a place in life he treasured most alongside Mrs. Jeannie.

Most of all, Leslie will be remembered through the love of his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 51 years, Bobbie "Jeannie" Owens Hawkins; and his sons, Adam (Shelley) Hawkins, Cain Hawkins, and Blain Hawkins. He also leaves behind his sister, Pat (Allen) Weeks and grandchildren, Gage Hawkins, Mattison (Gauge) Burkett, Ally (Gabe Blackburn) Hawkins, Kinsley (Tate Burnham) Hawkins and Marley Hawkins. Their lives stand as part of the lasting legacy of love he built over the years, and his memory will remain close to all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Yvonne Hawkins.

In keeping with his wishes, Mr. Hawkins will be cremated and no formal services are being planned at this time. 

Leslie Hawkins will be remembered with affection for his service, his devotion to family, his enjoyment of the simple pleasures of life, and the steady presence he brought to those around him. His memory will be cherished always.
