Mrs. Louise Dodd Braden, age 96, of Rome, GA, passed away on Sunday evening, September 24, 2017, in a local health care facility.
Ms. Louise was born in Plainville, GA, on June 30, 1921, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Elizabeth Roggers Dodd. She had lived most of her life in Plainville and was a graduate of Plainville High School. Ms. Louise retired from Burlington Mills in Shannon, GA, after 35 years service. She was a longtime member of the Unity Baptist Church. Ms. Louise enjoyed traveling with other seniors and was an avid softball player. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, William "Clayton" Braden. A grandson and eight siblings also preceded her in death.
Ms. Louise is survived by two sons, Jerome Braden and his wife, Cheryl, of Jackson Gap, AL, and Jack Braden and his wife, Linda, of Rome. Five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives also survive.
A private family memorial to honor the life of Mrs. Louise Dodd Braden will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kirby Rowland officiating at Salmon Funeral Home, 2516 New Calhoun Highway, Rome, GA.
