Marcus Stephen "Marc" Davis, age 38, of Brookville, Indiana, formerly of Rome, died Thursday evening, November 15, 2012, in Brookville.
A native of Rome and Floyd County, Marc was born on October 6, 1974, the son of Gary Wayne Davis and Donna Kay Odom Overman. He was a 1993 graduate of Coosa High School, attended Floyd College and was a graduate of Coosa Valley Technical College where he received Continuing Education and an Associate's Degree (AA,AS) in Respiratory Therapy. Marc was a Respiratory Therapist with McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. He loved fishing and the outdoors. He had been a resident of Brookville since March of 2011, moving there from Hamilton, OH. Marc was a member of the Ohio Therapist Association. Marc was preceded in death by a brother, Brandon Shawn Davis in 1982, and by grandparents, Weldon Davis, and Troy and Ruby Odom.
Marc is survived by his father and step-mother, Wayne and Martha Davis of the Cincinnati, Ohio area; mother, Donna Odom Overman of Centre, AL; a brother, Mike Davis of Aberdeen, OH; a step-sister, Michelle Shanahan of Lindale, GA; a grandmother, Mary Davis of Rome; a nephew, Brandon Wayne Davis; and his favorite two companion dogs, Bully and ShaSha.
Funeral services for Marc will be held on Tuesday afternoon, November 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Miles officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
Marc will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday evening, November 19, 2012, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home on Tuesday by 12:30 p.m. and include Stanley Smith, Dale Hulsey, Shane Wright, David Klink and Logan Shanahan.
