Margaret Burnice Willingham

October 26, 1925 — November 23, 2010

Margaret Burnice Willingham, age 85, of #506 Collier Road, NE, Rome, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday afternoon, November 23rd, 2010.

A native of Cherokee County, Alabama, Mrs. Willingham was born on October 26th, 1925, the daughter of the late Alvin and Annie Maude Fleming. She was a 1943 graduate of Rome Girls High School and was a member of the Wesley Southern Methodist Church. Prior to her retirement Mrs. Willingham was associated with the Floyd County Police Department as a Crossing Guard at Glenwood School for 25 years. Mrs. Willingham was preceded in death by 2 sons, Curtis Daniel Willingham and Robert L. Willingham. Mrs. Willingham was married on August 17th, 1946 to Curtis Willingham who preceded her in death on July 13th, 2005.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Baker of Rome; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Jane Willingham of Cumming, Ga. and Tim and Roxanne Willingham of Silver Creek, Ga.; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren also survive as do a brother, Greg Fleming of Florida.

Funeral services for Mrs. Willingham will be held on Saturday morning, November 27th, 2010, at 11 o'clock from the Parkview Chapel of Fred Talley's Funeral Home with her grandson, Rev. Rodney Willingham officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at Beech Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers.

Mrs. Willingham will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Friday) evening from 6 until 8 o'clock. At other hours they will be at the residence.
