Margaret Coyle Nunn Adams, age 97 of Rome, Georgia passed away early Sunday morning, June 9, 2013 at her son's residence in Silver Creek.
A native of Jackson County, Georgia, Mrs. Adams was born on March 13, 1916, the daughter of the late Thomas F. Love Nunn and the late Mae Belle Parks Nunn. She had spent the greater part of her life in Rome and was a long time member of the North Broad Baptist Church. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Adams was associated with Belk's for over 30 years. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Ruth Vernon Nunn, Jeanette Nunn Whitley and Elizabeth Nunn Reynolds, by 5 brothers, Henry Guilford Nunn, James Maurice Nunn, William Thomas Nunn and John Bunnes (J.B.) Nunn and Hal Parks Nunn. Mrs. Adams was married on April 28, 1935 to George Marvin Adams who preceded her in death in 1992.
Survivors include her son, George Adams and his wife, Joyce of Silver Creek, GA.; Grandsons, Greg Adams and Chris Adams and his wife, Kim; 3 great-grandchildren, Austin, Olivia and Allie Adams. Nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Margaret Coyle Nunn Adams will be held on Wednesday afternoon, June 12, 2013 at 1 o'clock at the North Broad Baptist Church with the Reverend Hugh Peacock and the Reverend Micah J. Pritchett officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot of East View Cemetery. Mrs. Adams will lie-in-state at the church on Wednesday from 12 o'clock noon until 1 o'clock.
Mrs. Adams will remain at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel where the family will receive friends this (Tuesday) evening, June 11, 2013 from 7 until 9 o'clock.
Mrs. Adams grandsons, great-grandson and nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
