Martha Elaine Brewer

Mrs. Martha Elaine Brewer, age 76, of Gaylesville, AL, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021, in a local hospital.

Martha was born in Kingston, GA, on February 18, 1945, daughter of the late Lawrence Landrum Jones, Jr., and Corrie Mae King Jones. She was a graduate of Cassville High School and a member of Dykes Creek Baptist Church. Martha was an admission’s clerk with Coosa Valley Technical College for over 30 years, retiring in 1996. She loved to travel, whether it was a short trip to town or going on vacation, Martha was always ready to go. Martha loved life on her farm and taking care of her boys. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Brewer, a brother, Lawrence Landrum “Bud” Jones, III, and a sister, Donna Jones Fowler.

Martha is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Dennis Michael Brewer, whom she married August 28, 1965; two sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen Brewer, and Matthew and Thori Brewer, all of Gaylesville; two grandchildren, Michael Brewer and Sara Brewer; one brother, Michael Todd Jones; one sister, Judy Ann Jones Thomason. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside and interment services for Martha will be held on Friday morning, October 1, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ray Miles officiating.
