Ora Mcabee

July 4, 1918 — March 4, 2015

Ora McAbee, age 96 of Rome, passed away on March 4, 2015. She was a weaver with Celanese and then later retired from Pepperell after 28 years of service. After retiring she ran the McAbee grocery store for two years. Ora was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church on Thomas Bluff Road. She was preceded in death by her parents Froddie and John Scott McAbee; sisters, Audrey Ingram, Lorene Phillips, Flora Willerson, Thelma Jones; brothers, Shelton McAbee, Orbin McAbee, Celdon McAbee, Roy McAbee, Harvey McAbee and Alton McAbee.

Mrs. McAbee is survived by her sister Jo Carver; brother, Felton (Jane) McAbee; sister-in-law, Nell McAbee and numerous nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.

The visitation will be on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from noon until 2:00 pm at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday also at the funeral home with burial to follow at Eastview Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Bob Ingram, Wendell McAbee, Mack McAbee, Kenny Phillips, Donald Stoner, Ronnie McAbee, Marion McAbee and Doug Ingram. All other nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Disabled Veterans or the Wounded Warrior Project.
