Patricia Edna Green

October 25, 1929 — July 31, 2016

Patricia Edna Green, 86 of Dallas, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on July 31, 2016. Affectionately known as "Mama Pat", she was born in Roseville, Ohio on October 25, 1929 to Thearle William Morris and Edna Fern Foregrave of Zanesville, Ohio.
On August 2, 1968, in Wheatridge, Colorado, Pat married Leonard Ray Green of Rome, Georgia. Soon thereafter, they had a baby girl, Jeanell, and moved to Marietta, Georgia.
Although her loving husband Leonard died in 1971, she and Jeanell remained in Georgia and resided in Marietta.
Former member of Olive Springs Baptist Church in Marietta, and current member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Hiram, she loved her Sunday School class and sharing the Lord with others. She was a very strong Christian woman.
During her years of employment, Pat served as the secretary to the Chief of Police of Zanesville, Ohio for 10 years and as a program coordinator for many years for the March of Dymes. She loved making a difference in the lives of others.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Ray Green; her step son Michael Green; her mother Edna Fern Morris; her father Thearle William Morris; her sister, Ruth (Morris) Weisman; her two brothers, Lee Morris and James Morris; her brother in-laws Lester Schuler, Bryant W. Green, Sr., Lewis Ivey, Harvey Green, and Carl Green. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanell (Green) Swan; her son-in-law, Rob Swan; her step-sons Ray Green and Gary Green; her sister-in-laws Nell Schuler, Betty Green, Jean Ivey, Patty Green and Catherine Green; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Fred Talley's Parkview Chapel and Funeral Home in Rome, Georgia on Saturday, August 6, 2016, and she is laid to rest at the Eastview Cemetery in Rome.
A special thanks goes to all of the MANY people at the Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center in Dallas, Georgia for the care and compassion that they showed Pat and her family as she battled dementia for the last two years.
