Ramon Raymond Morales

Mr. Ramon "Raymond" Morales, Sr., age 66, of Rome, GA, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 23, 2020.

Raymond was born in Houston, TX, on April 11, 1954, son of the late Benito Vargas Morales and Josephine Carranza Morales. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County since 1994. Prior to retirement in 2015, Raymond was associated with Neaton Rome as an industrial maintenance technician. He loved making all kinds of crafts, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by a son, Ramon Morales, Jr., two brothers, Benito and Jesse Morales, and two sisters, Rosie and Paula Morales.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Lucy Morales, whom he married December 24, 1977; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Cliff Gibson of Rome; son, Tony Morales of Montrose, CO; two grandchildren, Michael and Olivia Jo Gibson; two sisters, Alice Flores and Margaret Mendez; two brothers, Ruben Morales and Manuel Morales.

A private graveside service for Raymond will be held Friday morning, June 26, 2020, in Floyd Memory Gardens with Rev. Eric Hardman officiating. The Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion will confer military honors.
