Raymond William Dixon

Raymond William Dixon, age 80, of Rome, GA passed away on March 16, 2024, in Rome, GA. He was born in Rome on October 2nd, 1943.

Raymond proudly served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged, showcasing his sense of duty and loyalty to his country. He loved to fish, read and he loved animals. 

Raymond is survived by his daughters, Teresa Garrett of Rome, GA; Tina Dowdy (Jeff) of Lindale, GA; and Robin Love (Ray) of Rome, GA. He is also survived by siblings, Dick Dixon of Rome, GA; twin sisters, Lonnelle Loveless and Lynnette Shepherd (Bobby); grandchildren, Cotey Koehler, Joshua Garrett, Rachel Jacobs, Cecelie Dixon, Noah Dowdy, Liane Baker, Jaymie Collins; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother Esther Duke VanHorn and step father Lonnie VanHorn; his wife, Linda Gail Anderson Dixon;  sister-in-law, Lynn Dixon; and brother-in-law Guy Loveless.

Raymond William Dixon's legacy of kindness, will forever be cherished by those he leaves behind.
