Mrs. Shirley Ann Bailey, age 85, of Rome, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020, surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born in Adairsville, GA, on June 29, 1935, the daughter of Herschel Robert Clark and Mattie Lee Higgins Clark. She had been a resident of Rome and Floyd County the greater part of her life. Shirley was a housewife and homemaker and a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling around the United States with her love and spending time with family. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Clark.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Charles Norman Bailey, whom she married November 5, 1954; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Michael Kelley of Rome; son, Kevin Bailey of Dallas, TX; two granddaughters, Kristina (Ryan) Tucker, and Lauren (Nathan) Hui, all of Rome; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Kelley, Avery Hui, Bryson Tucker, and expecting the arrival of Remi Hui any day. A brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and Rita Clark of Adairsville, and a lifetime friend, Faye Hicks, also survive.
Funeral services for Shirley will be Friday afternoon, July 31, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Salmon Funeral Home with Pastor Brady Fortenberry officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. Social distancing will be followed in accordance with CDC guidelines.
Shirley will lie in-state at Salmon Funeral Home Friday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M.
Pallbearers are asked to meet at Salmon Funeral Home on Friday by 1:30 p.m. and include Edward Clark, Nick Clark, Christopher Clark, Greg Clark, Greg Alexander, Ryan Tucker and Nathan Hui.
